The atlas was collaboratively curated and designed by the Nibutani Ainu community of Ainu Mosir/Hokkaido, Japan, Syracuse University, University of Alaska Fairbanks, the Center for Ainu & Indigenous Studies at Hokkaido University, and the Exchange for Local Observations and Knowledge of the Arctic (ELOKA) as part of “Collaborative Research: Indigenous Northern Landscapes, Visual Repatriation, and Collaborative Knowledge Exchange” (NSF OPP#2330922).
